Description Essex Rotary lightweight under drive 2 pulley kit, this kit replaces all the alternator and water pump  pulleys on the RX-8’s 13b-MSP RENESIS engine. It does not include the main crank pulley. Alternator Pulley Water Pump Pulley Under-drive pulleys reduce the potential for Water Pump cavitation and over working of the Alternator at the high RPM ranges the Rotary Engine can operate at. Only Available in Raw Silver These Lightweight Pulleys are CNC machined from super light but extremely strong 6061-T6 Aluminium Alloy. reducing rotational weight from the crank and associated ancillaries will theoretically frees up horsepower normally used to turn/rotare the heavier pulleys and ancillaries (though Essex Rotary make no claim to proven HP gains when using under drive kits) Cavitation Cavitation is a process where by your water pump impeller acts like a “whisk” at high RPM beating air bubbles in to the coolant mixture, this process dramatically reduces coolant efficiency as the increasing cavitation effect reduces coolant flow around the engine. Each kit comes with Alternator Pulley Water Pump Pulley Gates Main Drive Belt Stainless Steel Hardware Kit (for Water Pump) Only one genuine Gates drive belt is included in this kit as the main belt will be the only one with a different size, if you wish to replace your A/C belt also then you will need to order a standard size alternator belt from our store. This 2 piece kit has the same size water pump pulley as our 3 piece kit however the alternator pulley is slightly larger in overall diameter. This kit is designed to for the 2003-2008 Series 1 RX-8 only as the water pump pulley on the later 2008-2013 R3 is a different design.
